‘This is the worst flood ever’: How to get help with your flood risk
Flood Relief has launched a flood-proof vehicle to help people who may be trapped in their homes or cars due to flood waters.
The vehicle is equipped with flood shields and flood sensors, and is able to detect the current and impending flood waters and act as a vehicle to evacuate if necessary.
It can travel at up to 50km/h and has sensors that are designed to detect any flooding and the wind, water and temperature, the company said in a statement.
The company has launched its new vehicle for flood victims, which can help them move to safer areas.
Flood Relief CEO Michael Zalewski told Mashable that the company is trying to provide assistance to as many people as possible, with the goal of having a vehicle by Christmas.
“Our goal is to get it to the relief center in the next day or two,” he said.
“We’re also trying to reach people with other vehicles to help them get back to their homes and get back in their cars and to get back on the road.”
Zalewski said the vehicle will be available by Christmas and will be ready to go by spring, with a price tag of $15,000.
“If it works out, it’s a pretty significant investment in terms of our ability to reach the people who need help,” he added.
“It’s not a quick process.”
Zalgovic said Flood Relief is hoping that people who are able to move can use the vehicle to get home quickly.
“That’s one of the things that’s going to really make it a success,” he explained.
So, we’re hoping it will help alleviate some of the pain that people are feeling.”
