How to be a smart millennial and change the world
“I’ve had a lot of good moments in my life, but none of them are what I wanted them to be.”
That’s how Empowerment Youth founder and CEO David DeJesus describes how he has been able to achieve his dreams of working for a major tech company and starting a business.
He talks to Mashable about how he made the transition from being a teenager to a CEO.
We’re going to try and get to the crux of why you think you should start your own company, and then maybe why you don’t, DeJesus says.
For the past year, DeJesus has been in the process of starting his own company and was excited to meet up with Mashable at an event in New York.
He says he was impressed by Mashable’s willingness to share what he wanted to do and his enthusiasm for building an organization.
DeJesus had a great time and met a lot interesting people at the event, but he said he felt like the biggest takeaway was how much he missed his family.
He and his wife, Kelly, are still working to get back together and get their lives back together, he says.
They have a 2-year-old son and are in the midst of moving to a new home.
After meeting with Mashably, DeJosephus had to figure out what he could do to change his life, and the answers came in to a startup called Youth.
He thinks it has the potential to change the way people view entrepreneurship and how people think about business.
DeJesuses is hoping to have his company up and running by next year.
He’s also been excited about the recent rise of the Millennial Generation.
The term Millennial is a new way of describing a young person born between 1980 and 1997.
They were born with the belief that the future of the world was in technology, DeJames says.
This means that many people have an opinion about how the world is going, but don’t necessarily understand the impact that technology is having.
DeJosephis believes that Millennials want a different future, and they want it now.
“They don’t have time for all the other stuff in their lives, so they need something that’s quick, fun, and fast,” he says, adding that they are focused on one thing.
In order to help Millennials achieve this vision, DeYoungs company Youth is launching a crowdfunding campaign to fund a new generation of leadership for the youth sector.
The goal is to raise $1 million to help build youth infrastructure and create jobs.
The campaign will run until November 2020.
The goal of the campaign is to give youth access to financial and mentoring resources and empower them to do the things they want to do, DeJereis says.
He said they will also build a network of mentors and advisers to help youth achieve their goals.
“We are very excited about Youth and our opportunity to help empower young people,” DeJoseph says.
